Smoke Shop Spotlight: I’d Hit that Smokin’ Glass

Pam and Bob Painter fell in love with cannabis culture in the 70s. After spending a few years in the glass industry, the couple decided to open a shop that stayed true to their roots.

“There wasn’t a shop like this in town,” Bob recalls. Of course, people could buy paraphernalia in Roseburg, Oregon at that time just not out in the open. So, when Pam and Bob opened I’d Hit That Smokin Glass in 2009, the couple brought the community they love an entirely new experience.

One that’s rooted in good people, good service, and good prices. That’s why inventory is curated with the customer in mind. I’d Hit That is overflowing with local glass artists and big-time brands, but Pam and Bob keep prices fair for everyone. Stop in to browse seemingly endless LED-lit shelves of functional glass art that ranges in style, size and price. Plus, the shop is fully stocked with production glass, electronic dab rigs, e-cigs, e-liquid, dab tools and accessories, CBD, kratom, candles, incense, apparel, and everything else your inner hippy-at-heart could ever want.

“Eugene is a huge hub for glass, and local art is really important to us,” says Pam. So, there’s always a great selection of local glass coming in. Customers can find Gorilla Nate and Allison, Special K, Jacob Farley, Liberty Glass, Jason Kimmel, Taylor Sims, Noble Glass, and other American glassblowers in the region regularly featured at the shop. “We’ve been buying from some of these guys since they were kids and we’re really proud of that,” Pam says. “They’re like family to us.”

To simplify it: their shop is a vibe. And you can feel it upon opening the door. Bright colors, happy plants, yummy scents, pretty lights and smiling faces. Their long-time staff (who Pam and Bob describe as ‘fantastic’) are excited to be at work every day. So, they’re always ready to take time listening to customers and helping out with product suggestions.

Customer appreciation goes beyond that, with thoughtful ways Pam, Bob and the staff give back to the community throughout the year. The 420 event is an annual customer appreciation day, where the shop hosts live bands, live glass blowing, a free BBQ feast, and a giveaway 20 minutes after the hour throughout the day. Pam started the event in 2009, but the last two years have been skipped because of the pandemic. Mark your calendar for 4/20/22, because the shop is coming back big!

“Christmas time is a lot of fun for us, too,” Bob says. “We go all out.” The shop is fully decked in the holiday spirit with decorations and gift options everywhere. Their handmade holiday gift baskets combine different products for dabbers and smokers. It’s a one-and-done type of shopping experience. The shop also carries these super unique and awesome glass bulb ornaments that can hold nugs. Basically, they’ve got everything a stoner would want for a special holiday season. I’d Hit That definitely brings out the spirit.

Whether you live in Oregon or are just passing through, make a stop at the kaleidoscope-painted a-frame shop in Roseburg—you won’t be disappointed.
