This week, we’re checking out the Arizer Solo 2, a portable vaporizer that is a major step up from Arizer’s original Solo and worth taking a peek at. At it’s modest price tag, it offers excellent performance and a durable, long-lasting battery as well as a sleek, sexy design that is easy to clean and use. Below is our full Arizer Solo 2 review.
What we love about the Arizer Solo 2 Vaporizer
The Arizer Solo 2 is the second upgraded version of Arizer’s original portable Solo vaporizer. The original solo was a great vape for its time, so we were excited to give the upgraded model a go. We were ultimately very impressed with it, just like we were with the Argo. Arizer is a trustworthy Canada-based brand that offers a handful of portable and tabletop vaporizers that perform just as beautifully as they look, and the Solo 2 is no different.
The design is a robust, tube-like model that looks a bit like a walkie talkie when it’s all put together and ready for use. It’s made from sturdy, high quality materials, but more importantly, everything comes apart for one of the easiest clean up jobs we’ve ever seen on a portable vaporizer this size. We also love it’s nice digital display and precise digital temperature control. You can dial in your ideal temperature on a degree-by-degree basis, and the heating element responds precisely.
The Solo 2 also comes with an incredibly strong battery that charges insanely fast and survives with regular use for a very long time. Unlike the mass majority of portable vaporizers on the market, you can use this one while it’s on the charger without damaging the unit or battery, which is a very nice feature for when you’re at home waiting for it to finish up.
The device itself uses a glass pod system for loading dry herbs into the vaporizer, which is exceptionally easy to clean and doesn’t require stirring to evenly toast your herb. Under the hood is a ceramic heating system featuring an isolated, all glass vapor path which draws in clean air, allowing you to enjoy smooth, flavorful vapor from your favorite herbs. We absolutely love the airflow and vapor quality on this vaporizer— it’s easily the best on the market in this price range, surpassing even the Storz and Bickel Mighty.
Lastly, we love that it comes with a manufacturer’s warranty. If you ever have an issue with the device, Arizer does everything they can to get you taken care of with only a few questions asked. They stand by the sturdiness of their design and will replace items with factory defects or otherwise.
Things that could be better about the Arizer Solo 2 Vaporizer
The Arizer Solo 2 is overall an excellent device, but like every other vape on the market, it does come with a few small pet peeves.
For starters, the Solo 2 can only be charged with an AC power cable. While the AC cable charges the device much faster and allows you to hit the vape while it’s charging, it isn’t great for taking the vape on the go. Without a USB port, portable chargers won’t work with this device. That said, you can still take the AC charger anywhere you can find a power outlet, but if you’re camping or driving, you won’t be able to get it charged easily.
The only other minor complaint has to do with the glass pod system. Glass is breakable, and that can rack up to extra expenses if something goes wrong. The pods are also open for better airflow, which is great for improving the flavor and heating the herb evenly, but if you pull too hard you might end up with a few scooby snacks in your mouth.
Regardless, these are exceptionally minor complaints and the Arizer Solo 2 is still easily one of the best out there in our book.
Arizer Solo 2 Vaporizer Review: Conclusion
All in all, we loved experiencing the Arizer Solo 2. It’s a fantastic portable vaporizer at home and on the go, and you can get yours for $150 on the Arizer website right now. It typically values around $250, though. Between its superior flavor, ease of use, sleek design, and powerful, long-lasting battery, we highly recommend the Solo 2 as one of the best portable vaporizers for dry herb on the market. Between our review and hundreds of positive reviews on the Arizer website, you really can’t go wrong. It seems to last longer than the Mighty and taste better than The Firefly 2+, which are both pretty shocking claims when you hear them. Give it a shot for yourself and let us know what you think.
