Boundless CFX Vaporizer Review

Boundless CFX Vaporizer Review

Oftentimes there are tradeoffs for incorporating some advanced features over others in vaporizers. You can get great power and temperature control with a desktop vaporizer, but lose the advantage of portability. On the flip side, an ultra-portable vape tends to offer less power than a desktop vaporizer, since it is designed to be compact and easy to use, and operate using a rechargeable battery. Or a vape that is ideal for vaping dry herb might not be best designed to switch over to vape concentrates. And most vaporizers only offer one method of heating, either convection or conduction. However, with vaporizer technology developing every day, we are seeing more advanced features packed into incredibly portable devices.

The CFX Vaporizer created by Boundless Technology is a step forward in the collective advancement of the vaporizer industry. Boundless crafted an advanced device all packed into a case that fits easily in your hand. But what trade-offs were made, if any, to make this advanced device? Or can you really have it all in one portable vaporizer at a reasonable price?

Boundless CFX Vaporizer

Equipped to handle flower and concentrates

Typically, you have to choose a vaporizer that is designed to handle either dry herb or wax concentrates. Each material needs a different method of heating to get it to the right temperature. They also tend to need different heating chambers to prevent herb mixing with sticky wax and creating a resinous mess. The CFX, however, was designed to easily handle flower, wax and oil. Boundless Technology offers two different chambers on the CFX that allow you to use either flower, wax or oil.

Another great feature of the CFX is that it can be attached to a water pipe. A water pipe adapter, which can be purchased separately, allows you to fasten the CFX to the downstem of almost any bong or dab rig. The CFX and water pipe adapter simply replace the bowl on your glass and adds water filtration to your inhale. The CFX’s adaptability provides smooth vapor no matter what you are vaping or how you like to have your sessions.

Hybrid convection and conduction heating

In order to heat different materials, a vaporizer will use one of two heating methods, convection or conduction heating. Convection heating works to heat the air surrounding the material, while conduction heating applies heat directly to the material. So which heating method is used by the CFX? It combines both heating methods for an even more powerful vaping experience.

The CFX offers hybrid convection and conduction heating, a combination of two independent heaters that work together brilliantly. The air that enters the ceramic chamber is heated with convection heating, which is circulated with an additional conduction heater in the ceramic chamber. The two heaters work together to heat the flower, wax, or oil to the preset temperature in an average of 20 seconds. With this advanced method of heating, the CFX creates smooth, flavorful vapor in fluffy clouds, no matter what you load into it.

Offering both power and portability

When vaporizers first hit the market, the general rule of thumb was the larger they were the more powerful they were. Handheld vaporizers in their first generation had enough power to manage small amounts of herb or oil. But if you wanted more power and control over the temperature of your device, you had to upgrade to a desktop vaporizer. Boundless Technology has managed to surpass these limitations, however, and has worked tirelessly to pack plenty of power into an incredibly portable vaporizer.

The CFX vaporizer stands at just under five inches tall and about three inches wide, but that space is used wisely. This vaporizer fits best in a bag or purse and weighs just three-quarters of a pound. The outside case of the vaporizer is especially durable thanks to a thin silicone coating, which not only makes the vaporizer easy to grip in one hand, but also prevents it from getting too hot to handle during a session.

The only potential drawback for the CFX when it comes to portability is that is it not the most discreet vaporizer to use. The device features a bright 1.7 inch OLED display, which can draw attention to the device when it’s being used in a dark location. However, you won’t want to trade that display screen in when you realize what it does. The display shows you exactly what temperature the CFX is set to, ranging anywhere between 100 degrees Fahrenheit and 430 degrees Fahrenheit. It also allows you to dial in that temperature to be the right setting for whatever material you might be vaping. The precise level of control also allows you to adjust the device’s temperature over the course of a session, to create smooth vapor down to the last drop of wax. The precise temperature control can create either full and fluffy clouds of vapor or more subtle and smooth clouds.

CFX Vape Review

The CFX packs 80 watts into two 2500 mAh batteries to power the device, which last an average of 10 to 15 five-minute sessions. It also has an auto shut-off feature that helps conserve your battery life, which kicks in after five minutes of inactivity. The batteries recharge quickly in an average of 30 minutes with a wall charging cable or three hours with a USB port. All of this combined makes the CFX one of the most powerful and portable vaporizers on the market.

Perfect for beginners and experienced vapers

So with all of these features packed into one vaporizer, you might assume that this device comes at a steep price. However, the CFX is surprisingly affordable, starting at $179.99. It is an investment that will last you a lifetime too, especially with its durability, advanced dual-heating system, and incredible versatility. This vape is perfect for those who like to pack power behind their sessions, and appreciate not being restrained to vaping just one material. It is durable for those who like to adventure, and versatile for those who like to host sessions with multiple materials. The large chamber can be converted to vape flower, wax, or oil, and handle both large bowls and micro-doses.

The CFX by Boundless Technology was created to be used by both experienced vapers and those who are vaping for the first time. It is powerful and yet easy to use. It is portable and incredibly durable. It is adaptable and works great with a variety of materials. And it is definitely worth checking out the next time you are in your local head shop.
